Weekly Message: October 31

Hello Kindergarten Families,

We welcomed students back this week. We spent time on routines and adjusting to a new classroom setting.

Our learning from this week:

We explored and predicted whether a pumpkin would sink or float in water.  We passed two kinds of pumpkins around and discussed the concepts of larger and smaller, and heavy and light. This week we read an Aaron Reynolds story, Creepy Pair of Underwear.

We made a craft of a Shape Monster. Ask your child what shape they chose to make!

Please practice cutting at home with your child. Ideas include: cutting up playdough, cutting up items in nature, cutting out of flyers and magazines to help make a grocery list.

Coming up:
Photo day is on Monday November 3rd.
We will be sending swimming forms home next week. We are looking for volunteers in the mornings for the week of November 17- 21.
Remembrance Day Assembly is Friday Nov. 7 for students during school.

The office asked for teachers to add this link:

Have a great weekend!
