Greetings Kindergarten families! We have caterpillars! We have been observing their size, shape and colour and drew our first observation in our journals. They grow quickly. We noticed that they can make webbing to protect themselves. We learned that they shed their skin as they grow, and that their food and poop are the same colour but different textures. (We only smelled and felt the food.)

We began our week outside and then started our skipping unit in gym. Students are practicing hopping, jumping, and gliding with both feet. We learned how to hold a skipping rope and how to move our arms to swing the rope over our heads. We are building our ability to jump over the rope.

In our journals, we practiced writing the number 4 and made an "I can see..." sentence. We also finished drawing and writing about our outdoor observation from last week.

We had "Family Friday" on Thursday this week. Students went to other classrooms and worked with students from the other grades. When we came back we had centres and worked as a team to create some LONG block lengths. These students are impressive!
